Ethical Principles and Publication Policy

Ethical Guidelines

Tradition and Modernity in Veterinary Medicine (TMVM) is a scientific
journal dedicated to upholding high ethical standards throughout the publication
process. The responsibilities regarding publishing ethics of TMVM, for authors
and peer reviewers are detailed in these guidelines.

Editorial Process

We are committed to maintaining editorial independence and preventing
any violation of this principle, regardless of the circumstances. We do not tolerate
discriminatory policies towards authors or reviewers. Our editorial process
promotes fairness and equity at every stage of publishing process.

All publication proposals sent to us are checked for compliance with the
aim and scope of the journal. After passing this stage and upon the declared
confirmation by the authors that the article is not about to be published by another
journal, it is sent to at least two independent reviewers in the relevant scientific
field corresponding to the topic of the article. Within 14 days, they must return an
answer to the editorial board, with a decision on whether they recommend that the
article be published in the journal.

If one of the reviewers decides to reject the article for publication, the
journal notifies the corresponding author of this decision by e-mail as soon as
possible, attaching a detailed justification.

In the case of a positive decision by both reviewers, the journal will notify
the corresponding author via e-mail as soon as possible, applying all corrections
suggested by the reviewers to be made by the authors. The latter, within a period
of 7 days, must make the appropriate corrections and send the corrected and final
version of the article again to the e-mail of the journal.

A one-time extension of the period for returning a review by reviewers and
making an article corrections by the authors is allowed only upon written
notification to the e-mail of the journal.

Decision for acceptance of a manuscript is 8-12 weeks, including the time
for reviews and corrections.

TMVM scientific journal is published biannual – first issue June-July and
second issue November-December

Authorship and Contribution Information

From 2024, information about authors' ORCID codes, if available, will be
added to all published articles.

All co-authors on behalf of the corresponding author confirm, by signing
the Plagiarism Declaration, that the manuscript is their own work and that no
third-party works or parts thereof have been used.

In case of differences in the contributions of the authors involved in the
development of the proposed article, and to avoid the risk of conflict of interest,
we recommend that they attach information about the individual contributions of
the authors using the following guidelines: Writing the draft, Formatting the final
version of the manuscript, Participation in the experiments, Collecting the
materials, Performing the statistical analysis, Processing the results and the
discussion.

Affiliations

All authors must represent the institution that presents them. As well as the
institution(s) in which the research was conducted or which supports the same.

Plagiarism

TMVM does not tolerate the use or appropriation of other scientist's
materials or works without the express knowledge and consent of their authors.

Each newly submitted manuscript is tested for plagiarism through the
Strikeplagiarism platform before it is published. If the same is found, the article
is excluded from print.

Human or Animal Research

All manuscripts which report in vivo experiments, clinical or
epidemiological trials with humans or animals must include a written Statement
in the Methods section that such work was conducted with the formal approval of
the local human subject or animal care committees, and that clinical clinical trials
have been registered as required by international legislation.

Competing Interests and Funding

The authors undertake to provide information through a statement in the
article in the presence of a conflict of interest of a financial, non-financial,
professional or personal nature.

In the presence of external funding, authors should mention this in the
article in the Acknowledgments section.

Freedom of Speech

In our role as a journal of scientific value, we encourage freedom of
expression, but we do not tolerate the publication of false claims that may damage
the reputation of cited authors or organizations.
